Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Animal Plus Allergy (206033-01) – Best Product for Allergies
First off, the Cinetic Big Ball vacuum never loses suction, which is much more than we can say for a good percentage of vacuums out there!
The Cinetic series has also tossed away the idea of using a filter in its entirety and still provides you with a vacuum that will hold up for years of usage without the suction going out on you at all. We can’t express enough how much better we feel filterless vacuums work.
You may notice initially, that this model looks an awful lot like the DC65 Animal Upright (also from Dyson), however, it has many differences. The body of the vacuum has its weight supported by Dyson’s infamous ball, which not only looks cool and modern, but functions to improve maneuverability. The dustbin pops into place on top of the ball, and can also be taken out for speedy emptying just by pressing the red button.
Now, when you’re all set to actually get to work, feel free to recline the back without having to press any buttons or levers; all you need to do is pull it down, and the little wheels which hold the vacuum up will move up and out of the way. Simply lift the handle back to the original position when you’re finished, and the wheels will lower back down and lock.
Something that’s a huge marketable aspect of the Cinetic Big Ball Animal Allergy, is the impressive attachment selection that’s included upon purchase. A whopping nine tools allow you to clean just about any tight spot you want: crevices, tight corners, upholstery, auto interior pet hair, and more.
If you or someone else in your home has allergies, and/or if you have pets and need something special to effectively clean up pet hair, then we can say that this one is a good option. However, we did notice that the brush roll often tangled longer hair, and the shorter ones would sometimes get stuck in the bristles.
However, with the attachments, this will be less of an issue.
There were a couple other things which we weren’t completely satisfied with.
One, is that the pivoting wheels/kickstand don’t work as smoothly as we would have liked. For example, you may have to move the vacuum back and forth a couple times to make sure the wheels actually come back down.
The other is that some parts of the body feel a little cheap. However, it doesn’t really affect the overall functionality.
What We Liked
- Great for those with allergies/with pets
- Included tools can clean just about any tight corners, under furniture, upholstery, etc.
- Great design
What We Didn’t Like
- The wheels don’t function perfectly
- Without the tools, cleaning certain types of hair isn’t always easy
Dyson V6 Animal Cord-Free – Most Convenient Product
In addition, this model has 75% more brush power than previous models, which is huge! You can easily clean up debris from various types of surfaces, no matter how stubborn.
The V6 motor is quite lightweight, but still very powerful. In fact, we won’t hesitate in saying that It’s one of the most powerful among the cordless vacuum market. If you have stairs, you’ll definitely love this model, as no cord is needed, and overall, the vacuum is lightweight.
Keep in mind, that when attaching the stick, the power is reduced a bit.
Much like the other models, the V6 Animal Cord-free comes with extra attachment tools, including crevice tools to clean hard-to-reach tight places, a mini-motorized tool to get rid of pet hair, as well as a soft brush to remove small particles of dust and dirt.
Let’s get back to the power aspect:
The power is definitely one of the biggest selling points of this cordless vacuum. It’s one of the most powerful cordless models on the market today, which means you’ll get your task done quicker and more efficiently.
In terms of portability, It’s very simple and convenient to use. Nothing is off-limits, due to the fact that there’s no limit in your radius of operation. On top of that, you can simply take off the hose, to transform the vacuum into a handheld model, perfect for upholstery or car interiors.
The downsides are that while it is ultra-convenient, the battery only lasts a mere 20 minutes in one go, so make sure to keep that in mind. Also, the dustbin only comes in at 0.105 gallons.
What We Liked
- Lightweight, yet powerful model
- Comes with variety of useful attachment tools to clean just about anywhere
- Extremely portable
- Can be used as handheld model for more convenience
What We Didn’t Like
- Battery only lasts around 20 minutes at a time
- Dustbin is a bit small, at just 0.105 gallons
Dyson V8 Absolute Cord-Free – Editor’s Favorite
We believe that cordless vacuums are the future, which coincides with Dyson’s beliefs. What’s different about this model, is that it lasts twice as long as the V6:
Enough to completely replace your typical corded vacuum! With just using a tool, it will last up to 40 minutes, 30 minutes with the fluffy head attachment, and up to 25 minutes with the traditional spinning brush head.
The V8 is the newest in the Dyson cordless vacuum line, starting all the way back ten years ago. Since 2007, the models have continued to notably progress, becoming more powerful, along with improved energy-efficiency and batteries. This means that they’re going to last a much longer time in-between charges.
This cordless vacuum means to restrictions, increasing maneuverability, no needing to continuously unplug and plug in, is faster to deploy, and is more compact and lightweight.
The V8 Dyson stick is easily one of the most (if not the most) maneuverable and user-friendly cleaner on the market today. Simply stick on one of the tools that come with the product, press the trigger, and you’re all set! To detach and attach tools is very simple and intuitive:
Simply push the button, side apart, and snap the desired tool in place. You can reach tight corners, in couch cushions, and much more in just seconds.
However, there are also some cons that come along with it:
It features a smaller bin, is less powerful than your typical corded vacuum, and it also has to be charged before being used.
Something we’ll also note, is that while the vacuum does only weigh in at a mere 2.6kg, the vast majority of the weight will all be in your hand. After a while, we noticed our hands and forearms starting to cramp up a bit, however, you will get used to it fast.
To switch in-between suction levels, simply switch the top switch and you’re all set. We will say, that just the regular suction level was more than enough to clean with the carpet head. It was also notably more quiet.
The bin is very small, however, large enough to efficiently clean a whole house without having to empty in the middle.
What We Liked
- Easy to operate; very flexible
- Comes with a variety of useful tools
- Lasts up to 40 minutes; the most of any cordless vacuums
- High-quality build design
What We Didn’t Like
- On the more expensive end of the spectrum
- Pretty small bin
Dyson Ball Multi Floor 2 – Best Upright Vacuum
The model weighs in at around 15.6 pounds, along with a motor of 245 air watts. This powerful, robust vacuum cleaner is relatively inexpensive for all that it features.
The improved design allows for better maneuvering around furniture and corners with ease. The Multi Floor model is notably thinner than previous models, which also makes it more lightweight; great for homes with stairs, and easier to store when finished.
The cyclone ball technology is unique to these models and features the cyclone motor stored in a dime, and the vacuum head is also put on it, so it moves around easily. The cyclone motor is very powerful, capable of sucking up microscopic dust than other cyclone types.
The 245-watt motor gives very powerful suction, which works on multiple surfaces, including hardwood floors and thick, shaggy carpets. There are plenty of powerful upright carpet cleaners, but it’s not very easy to find one that really works well on multiple types of surfaces.
Part of this is due to the fact that the cleaner head is automatically sealed to the cleaning surface. When the cleaner head and surface is loose, the active base plate will seal automatically to the motor so it doesn’t lose suction.
To empty the bin, it’s quite easy; all you have to do is press the button to remove all the dirt and dust, with no touching needed. For those with allergies and/or asthma, this is a great option, as well, as it’s certified for both conditions.
The downsides are that it’s obviously corded, so you don’t quite have the convenience that you have with the cordless ones. In addition, it’s a bit heavier than the corded ones, as well.
What We Liked
- Great build and design; very durable and powerful
- Works on multiple surfaces, such as hardwood and shaggy carpet
- Auto seal to cleaning surface works on bumpy surfaces
- Comes with a variety of cleaning tools
What We Didn’t Like
- Not as convenient as cordless models
- A bit heavier than corded models
Dyson Top Dog – Best Pet Hair Product
The vacuum is powered by the small, lightweight Dyson digital motor V6. Spinning up to 110,000 rpm, it creates a powerful suction that is unheard of in other vacuums of its size. It easily removes pet hair and allergens from your home, creating a healthier, cleaner space for everyone!
This Dyson portable vacuum is handheld, and comes equipped with specialized tools designed to thoroughly clean every nook and cranny inside your home, so no pet hair and dust can hide!
The 2-tier radial cyclones are 15 cyclones, arranged across two tiers, working in parallel in an effort increase airflow and capture more of that microscopic dust.
With the specialized fade-free battery, you’ll see almost twice as much power as the DC34, which is actually quite impressive for a cordless, handheld vacuum such as the Top Dog. The run-time enhancing trigger also means that the batter is solely used for vacuuming, and nothing else. It provides up to 20 minutes of powerful suction which is enough time for you to thoroughly clean any car’s interior or get rid of any dust and dirt around furniture and upholstery.
It comes with various power settings, and all you have to do is simply press a button to select the one for you. If you’d like to really dig in deep, you can choose to go into “max power mode”, which provides you with six minutes of a higher suction for the more stubborn jobs.
While other vacuums can cause your hand and arms to cramp initially, the Top Dog fits naturally into the shape of your hand, due to the ergonomic design, and the fact that it’s completely cord-free. At only 3.5 pounds, it hardly weighs anything at all, and the even weight distribution makes for easy maneuvering.
When you need to empty the bin, simply press a button to release the dirt.
What We Liked
- Extremely portable, lightweight, and easy to maneuver
- Great for getting rid of microscopic dust and pet hair
- Various power modes to choose from
- Great for detailing and upholstery
What We Didn’t Like
- Not comparable to something like an upright vacuum
- Only lasts up to 20 minutes
How To Pick The Right Dyson Vacuum For Your Preferences
Ah, the vacuum:
That extremely useful, yet annoying thing sitting in the corner of the home or tucked away, hoping to never need it again, but always proving you wrong.
Okay, so It’s nice to have a clean floor and home, but it can be a hassle to use them if you have a less-than-desirable model! Some are just downright too loud, and some are far too heavy for many people to comfortably use.
It’s important to get the right vacuum.
A vacuum is an investment, and when it comes to a clean home, you need the right product for you. One thing that can make things more difficult is the sheer number of options that are out there! Lots look really cool, but may not get the job done the way you need.
That’s why we’re here:
So you’re getting the perfect Dyson vacuum for you!
You have probably noticed that there are a ton of different vacuum styles out there, and that they all have their upsides and downsides. So, which one is right for you?
Upright is the type of vacuum that most people have. Typically, they feature some kind of level by the foot that you press to change the angle of the vacuum to make it easier to move around. The features and prices vary widely and are typically known to be the most powerful type of vacuum.
Handheld vacuums are like the Top Dog:
They’re excellent for the smaller, more detailed jobs. Some are cordless, which are very convenient for the quick, easy cleanups. We also found them an excellent option for those who have RVs, or as a kind of supplement if you don’t want to lug out your upright vacuum each time there’s a small mess. These are probably the least powerful of all the vacuums
Stick vacuums are a kind of a mix between a handheld vacuum and an upright. They’re much more easy to move around than an upright, due to the fact that they’re so lightweight, and obviously much easier to store. They usually operate on batteries, so while they can go where corded vacs can’t, they are usually less powerful, as well.
If you’re going for an upright vacuum, then you’re going to be choosing either disposable bags or a reusable bin. Bags usually hold more, but It’s also more difficult to tell how full the bag is without completely taking it out, which is a hassle. Bags, however, release less dust into the air when being thrown out.
Dustbin models are growing in popularity. They’re see-through, so you don’t have to completely take it out to check on the status like you would bags. You can empty and reuse them over and over, however, keep in mind that you may have to replace the filter.
Cordless vacuums are no-doubt easy and convenient, however, there are some downsides you may want to look at. Most stick vacs use batteries, but if you want to clean your entire home and don’t want to have to worry about recharging, then you may want to go with a corded model.
If corded models aren’t for you, just check out the battery life of each model, as they all vary. Also, check on the battery indicator. You don’t want to be in the middle of vacuuming, only to have it unexpectedly shut down.
Attachments can make a huge difference in the cleaning your vacuum provides. Most come with things like corner wands, but some come with a lot more, such as a powered brush roll to reduce tangling, a pet hair-specific attachment to make cleaning hair easier, a mop attachment to clean hardwood, and much more.
Price is definitely an important factor when purchasing the best Dyson vacuum, as they vary so much. If you want a less expensive option, It’s best to look at either a handheld model or a less expensive stick model.
The upright vacuums also have less expensive models, but the ones that are really worth it are going to be more pricey. Also factor in things like replacement filters or replacement bags, as these will add up over time!
If someone in your home has asthma, you may want to keep in mind that HEPA filters can get rid of those annoying allergens in your home, to make it a much more comfortable, healthy place to be. In addition, if you have a reusable bag system or reusable canisters, you may want to opt for just the throw-away bags, as when you empty the bags or canisters into the garbage, those allergens are once again escaping into the clean air.
So, which Dyson vacuum was your favorite? Ours was the V8 Absolute Cord-free: it was one of the products which we found to be the easiest to use and maneuver. It is very lightweight and doesn’t cramp your hands like some others do.
It also comes with a bunch of various tools so you can effectively clean under furniture, inside tight nooks and crannies, plant shelves, car interiors, and so much more.
The cordless design means that if you have a large home or have stairs, that you can easily take this vacuum with you anywhere, without having a full-on workout! Despite being cordless, it lasts up to twice as long as other models: up to 40 minutes! That’s practically unheard of.
So, which best Dyson vacuum are you taking home?
