Bissell Zing Rewind – Best Product for Small House/Apartment
If so, then you need to check out the Bissell Zing Rewind!
The Bissell 1665 itself is actually quite inexpensive for what it is, which is a lightweight, convenient, and modern product that will get the job done right the first time.
However, it also saves you money by the pure fact that it’s a bagless canister vacuum. That means you won’t be spending money that can quickly add up, on vacuum bags.
The bagless operation gives an extra level of convenience, as you don’t have to worry about changing the vacuum bag all the time! Instead, it collects dirt and whatnot in a dust cup. The way that works is kind of like a coffee filter, where you just empty, wash it, and reuse it over and over again at no extra cost to you or the planet.
If you take a look at the best canister vacuum consumer reports, you’ll also notice that the Bissell Bagless is also one of the best products if you have a small house. If you do, then you probably understand that using a big, bulky vacuum cleaner just isn’t feasible.
Sure, you could keep it in your kid’s closet;
But do you really want to deal with them playing dress-up with it when you need it for a quick cleaning?
This canister vacuum features a sleek, compact design, perfect for maneuvering around tight spaces, and making storage a breeze. Simply tuck it into a small, unused space, or even under the bed if space allows.
Another common issue with your traditional upright vacuums is the fact that many just don’t multi-surface clean as well. Perhaps it cleans hard floors well, and carpet not so much, or vice-versa.
The Bissell does both.
With superior suction and a convenient switch flip, this best canister vacuum lets you clean all your flooring in one easy go. As soon as you switch from carpet to hardwood flooring, tile, and so on, just simply hit the switch and that’s it!
We know that just taking the vacuum around the house once is often not enough:
Well, with traditional vacuums.
This product collects all of the dust and dirt that can be easy to miss until the sunlight hits it just right; that way you don’t have to drag the vacuum back out again and go another round.
However, even if you did have to, it wouldn’t be that bad, considering the fact that It’s so easy to maneuver, and even carry up the stairs, given that It’s so lightweight. Clean hard-to-reach spots like tight corners, under furniture, inside the cars, up the stairs, and so on.
While this is no-doubt an amazing product, It’s not perfect. One thing that we didn’t particularly like was the cord length of a mere 15 feet. With that being said, it is definitely ideal for a small house or apartment, as the length can be a hindrance in a large one without an extension cord.
What We Liked
- Very lightweight and easy to maneuver
- Easily cleans multi-surface homes with just the flip of a switch
- Very inexpensive
- Can easily be stored due to compact size
- Bagless design further saves you money, while also being eco-friendly
What We Didn’t Like
- Short cord length isn’t ideal for larger homes without an extension cord
Dyson V6 Cordless – Most Lightweight Product
Tired of lugging out that heavy upright vacuum?
Perhaps you’re purchasing for a loved one who doesn’t have the strength to push a standard vacuum around? No matter what your situation is, you’re going to love the V6.
Clocking in at an impressively-light 4.5 pounds, It’s so lightweight, even a child could operate it with ease!
One of the features you’ll probably take note of immediately, is the fact that this vacuum is cordless. This comes with upsides and downsides, depending on your personal needs. If you have a large house and just want to do a quick clean-up, then this is great, since you can carry it up and down stairs and cover the house without unplugging.
However, it’s also difficult if you have a large home and want to do a more thorough cleaning, as the rechargeable battery only lasts up to 20 minutes of runtime.
We did notice that even during the final minutes of runtime, the suction was just as powerful in the beginning, and didn’t fade noticeably.
The motorized cleaner head works with just about any kind of surface, so if your home is carpeted and also has hardwood or tile flooring, this is great. In fact, you can clean just about anywhere from floor-to-ceiling, as the center of gravity is all the way up towards your hand, so you can easily maneuver it up or down.
You don’t even have to keep it inside your home; with the handheld mode, the wand easily detaches for quick, handheld cleaning, perfect for inside your car!

- Great for light cleaning in large homes
- Cleans just about any type of surface

Hoover CH30000 – Most Powerful Product
Have pet hair that your current vacuum just won’t pick up? Or perhaps doesn’t work well with your hardwood floors?
Check this one out.
The Hoover comes with a super-strong 2.2 HP motor, which will give you the power to get rid of any pet hair or dust that comes your way. It works on tile, hardwood floors, and low-to-medium pile carpet without having to worry about it scratching or dinging the floors.
Something really unique about this canister vacuum cleaner, is the fact that it also features a built-in blower, giving you more versatility with how you clean and maintain your home.
Despite its power, it only weighs in at 8.3 pounds, making it great for those who aren’t comfortable handling heavier products, and is convenient for those with large homes.
Speaking of those with bigger houses, this product comes with an extra-long, 33-foot long cord! This makes it easier for you to reach more places, including the ceiling, walls, under furniture, and even on top of cabinets! For longer cleaning sessions, the carrying strap will be your best friend, ensuring you don’t have to carry it the entire time.
Included, are some helpful tools, as well, to get deep in the tough-to-reach corners and so on. It comes with a crevice tool, wall/floor cleaner, dusting brush, and a furniture and rug nozzle to help lift up dust and pet hair.
As far as the clean-up goes, it features a washable, reusable bag. This was neither here nor there for us. We preferred the dirt cups, where you literally never need to buy bags, while the Hoover CH30000 comes with washable bags that can be reused various times, but eventually need to be replaced.
The price also wasn’t bad, and as far as a product with these features go, typically cost double or even three times the amount as this monster!
Before we finish up with this one, we do want to say that despite having such a long cord, the hose on this top canister vacuum was surprisingly short! While it didn’t make that much of a difference, it could make you have to lean over a bit more.
In addition, we noticed that while it definitely is a multi-surface cleaner, it didn’t work very well on high-pile carpeting, so keep that in mind if you have that in your home.
What We Liked
- Lightweight and easy to maneuver
- Relatively inexpensive
- Multi-surface cleaner
- Features a reusable, washable bag
- 33-foot, super-long cord
What We Didn’t Like
- Hose is pretty short
- Doesn’t work as well on high=pile carpet
Eureka Mighty Mite – Best Budget Product
This professional vacuum comes with everything you need for a deep clean, all under just $100!
Despite being so inexpensive, it comes with an array of features anyone is sure to love! First of all, is the actual suction.
Does it last?
It sure does! The robust suction power is not only powerful but is also adjustable to your preferences! As one of the best vacuum cleaners for pet hair, it is equipped with powerful brush rolls to deep-clean carpets, as well as a full set of tools to clean places like stairs, curtains, or upholstery. The vacuum itself picks up dust and pet hair without a cinch. It also cleans auto interiors easily, as well, with the crevice tool.
The onboard tools allow you to have easier access to the hard-to-reach areas like plant shelves, under furniture, in tight corners, etcetera. The two included extension wands clean curtains and get rid of cobwebs. The 20-foot extension wand allows for cleaning anywhere you need, like ceiling fans.
The bagged canister vacuum features a triple-filtration bag system, so while it may be more sanitary and better for someone with asthma or allergies, it will cost money to get new bags, and isn’t as eco-friendly.
A cool feature is that it has a blower, making it great if you want to do some outdoor cleaning as well, like cleaning up the garage or front walkway. When it comes to putting the vacuum away, the compact design makes that easy.
What We Liked
- Lightweight, compact design
- All kinds of tools allow for cleaning in tight, hard-to-reach places
- Blower is great for cleaning outdoors or in garage
- Powerful motor

The machine is easy and intuitive to control, with digital fingertip controls, allowing you to quickly and simply reduce suction power for rugs and other more sensitive surfaces. Not only that, but it’s very lightweight as well, making it more maneuverable and great for vacuuming under low pieces of furniture. When it comes time to be put away, It’s super easy to store, due to its small size!
The only thing we weren’t fans of with this canister vacuum, was that it didn’t do as well on high-pile carpeting, and for heavy-duty cleaning.

- Super-soft bristles, rubber wheels, and felt treads make sure not to damage delicate surfaces

How To Pick The Correct Canister Vacuum
When purchasing your best canister vacuum, there are a variety of things to look at before hitting that “buy” button! It can definitely be overwhelming, but if you know what to look for, then it should be a piece of cake!
With that being said, we’ve gone ahead and created a little buying guide to make your process a bit easier!
Something you definitely need to consider is the filtration level available in the vacuum that you have your eyes on. A higher filtration level is going to mean that it will probably take multiple shots to actually remove the particles from the exhaust. This means that tiny particles can be stuck, leading to improved air quality.
If you want the best, look for one with a HEPA (high-efficiency particulate air) filter. The filter is definitely more expensive, however, very effective in getting rid of airborne mold, smoke, and other undesirables. If you or someone you live with suffers from allergies or other sensitivities, definitely check this out.

This is particularly important if you have a very large home or a very small one that doesn’t comfortably accommodate your traditional upright vacuums. Usually a cleaning path will range anywhere from 10 to 15 inches. When vacuuming, you may notice you have to take several laps if you have a smaller cleaning path, and fewer if it’s larger.
This is even more important if you have stairs or if you have a large home, but take a look at the length of the power cord before purchasing. If you have a larger home or rooms, then make sure your canister vacuum has a cord length of at least 20 feet long. If you want a vacuum without a power cord, then take a look at a Dyson vacuum. They may be expensive and odd-looking, but they’re very efficient.
This goes once again, twice as important if you have a large home. Why? Well, if you have a canister vacuum with a small dirt capacity, you’re going to end up having to change out the bag (and consequently spending more money on more) or empty the cup/bin all the time.
The normal capacity will range from half-a-gallon to one whole gallon. Also, take a look at whether it is a bagged vacuum or bagless. Bagless vacuums mean you don’t have to purchase any bags and It’s much more eco-friendly. However, bagged vacuums are less messy to clean and they’re better for those with allergies or other sensitivities.
If you have stairs or if you can’t comfortably manage an upright vacuum, then definitely take this into consideration before making your purchase. Canister vacuums often feature wheels, so it’s not that much of an issue unless you end up having to lug it up the stairs. All of the models featured here are very lightweight.
What kind of flooring do you have? Perhaps your home has multiple surfaces. Canister vacuums are honestly ideal for bare floors, but many work well with multiple surfaces; just make sure you know this ahead of time.
Ease of Use
This goes beyond how lightweight it is or how easily it can be maneuvered around tight corners and furniture; we’re talking about the controls. Are they all the way at the bottom? Do you have to crouch down just to change settings, or are they conveniently located near the grip? This may not seem important until you’re actually doing it!
We truly loved each one of the canister vacuums on this guide; however, not every one of them is going to suit you the best. Our personal favorite was the Bissell Zing Rewind. While no product is perfect, this one came pretty dang close. In fact, the one thing we didn’t absolutely love was the fact that the power cord wasn’t that long, however, can be solved just by adding in an extension cord.
It’s great for those on a budget, relatively powerful for its size, works great on multiple surfaces, and is lightweight and easily storable. The suction and other functions are easily adjustable and accessible, and the bagless design is not only eco-friedly, but also great on a budget.
So, which one are you going for? If you have any questions or comments, please don’t hesitate to let us know in the comments! Other than that, enjoy your new canister vacuum!
