Nicetown – Easiest Product to Maintain

Looking for some great, easy-to-maintain Amazon blackout shades but don’t know where to start?

We hear you!

The internet can be flooded with a range of different options, and it can be overwhelming. The Nicetown Thermal Insulated Blackout Curtains are a nice option for just about anyone who wants convenient and effective shades.

If you didn’t know already, many blackout curtains require hand-washing, which can be a hassle and time-consuming. If you have kids or just have a very hectic life, in general, you could probably think of a billion other things you need to do before washing your curtains.

These ready-made curtains come with 2 panels which are each 42 inches wide by 62 inches in length. Each panel features 6 grommets. Right out of the package, we noticed that the fabric felt very nice, especially for such a low price point. We also noticed that they didn’t include a liner, which may or may not be important to you.

In addition to being ready to go, they’re all thread-trimmed and wrinkle-free, so you can hang them right out of the package. They fit just fine with standard curtain rods, so you don’t have to worry about purchasing the incorrect size.

Upon hanging them, we noticed they blocked out quite a bit of sunlight. We’ll be completely honest and say upfront that they didn’t block as much as some others on our list, however, they blocked the majority of it.

The description lists them as blocking anywhere from 85% to 99% of light and UV rays, and we’re willing to bet it depends on the color you choose.

If you choose the black, toffee brown, or burgundy red, you’re going to get a lot more blockage than you would from the silver-white, baby pink, blue, and so on.

No matter the color you choose, the fact that they look so high-quality makes them an ideal addition to any bedroom, living room, kitchen, or office!

Let’s move on to the rest of the features, shall we?

The Amazon window curtains feature a triple-weave blackout fabric, which not only blocks light from coming in but also works to balance room temperature.

These aren’t just protecting against the cold, however! They work just as well in cooling rooms being blasted with the summer heat.

You can also use them to protect your furniture from fading, as well as floors, and even artwork!

When you need to keep them looking nice, you don’t have to worry about washing them by hand; simply throw them in the washing machine with cold water, and tumble dry.

If you’d like, you can run an iron over them or steam clean, too, but it’s definitely not necessary.

You may be wondering if there was anything we didn’t like.

Well, as previously mentioned, some of these aren’t up to 99% blackout like many others on our list are. It really depends on the color you select, so keep this in mind!

What We Loved

  • Very high-quality feeling fabric with heavy microfiber
  • Great for protecting furniture from fading, artwork, and floors
  • Great price point
  • Fits most normal-sized curtain rods

What We Didn’t Like

  • Depending on the color you choose, may not block up to 99% of light coming in

Deconovo Room Darkening – Best Budget Product

Are you looking for cheap curtain sets that have the ability to block out light, protect your room from outside temperatures, but still be listed at a great price?

We have to admit, they’re not all that common, but we found exactly what you’re looking for with the Deconovo Room Darkening Thermal Insulated Window Curtain Panel.

The Deconovo blackout curtains are made of 100% high-quality polyester. When we think of polyester, oftentimes it’s that rough-feeling material so many clothes from the ’70s were made out of. However, with these, they’re silky-feeling, soft, and definitely not bulky.

The blackout curtain panels are available in a bunch of different vibrant colors. The super-soft triple-weave 230GSM polyester blocks out light really well, but also works as an energy-efficient addition to any room.

How does that work?

Well, if you’re in a cold environment or season, it protects against the cold to help keep it warmer in the winter. Acting as a barrier between cold glass windows and your room may seem too simple, but it actually works. In the summer or hotter climates, it does the same but protects against the sun and UV rays from making their way in.

In addition, they can also protect furniture and artwork from fading, and can even protect flooring!

Something else we loved about these, is that they don’t attract any kind of dust or mites, making it great for children’s/babies’ rooms, or really anyone who has allergies.

Each curtain features 6 silver-ish, anti-rust grommets, which are big enough for most rods on the market. The interior is 1.6 inches, and the exterior diameter is 2.4 inches.

Keep in mind, that the lighter the color, the less light is going to be blocked. That can definitely be a downside, especially because some of the most attractive colors they offer are the lighter ones.

The discount curtains and drapes come in: Light Beige, Turquoise, Star White, Royal Blue, Red, Pink, Orange, Nile, Navy Blue, Light Grey, Light Green, Light Blue, Lavender, Khaki, Greyish White, Green, Fuchsia Pink, Dry Rose, Dark Grey, Chocolate, Brown, Blue, Black, and Beige.

We also had one more thing for you to keep in mind:

Only one panel is included in each package. That means that for many situations, you’re going to have to go ahead and purchase two. However, even purchasing two of these products, you’d still be spending way less money than you would if you selected most other products.

What We Loved

  • Extremely low price point
  • Comes in wide array of color options
  • Easy to wash, iron, and steam clean
  • Doesn’t attract any dust or mites

What We Didn’t Like

  • Only one panel comes per package
  • Not every color blocks out light/UV rays the same

Best Home Fashion Thermal – Best Insulating Product

Want to put some of the best curtains ever in your office? Or perhaps you just want something more energy-efficient. With the rise in fuel prices, and outrageous energy bills, you’re not the only one! There are a bunch of different ways to reduce energy bills, and using some of these Amazon window curtains can help get you there.

The Best Home Thermal Blackout Curtains are some of the best we’ve seen, and despite being so high-quality, the price isn’t too bad, either.

Due to the fact that they are made of 100 percent polyester, and feature triple-weave fabric construction, you’re going to have a product that blocks out sunlight, harmful UV rays, and even insulates your room against the cold.

So, does that mean you have to add them to every room?

No. Simply choose the rooms where you spend the most time, or where you specifically need a very dark, quiet room, or where you’d like to prevent heat or cold from coming in. Oftentimes, this will be the bedroom or the office area.

If you have noisy neighbors or outside noise, these can even reduce outside noise to give you the perfect place to get a good night’s (or rather, day’s!) sleep, or make the perfect study environment or studio!

The curtains come in two different hanging options: back-tab and/or rod pocket, to allow for versatile styling. To clean, simply machine wash warm with similar colors and tumble dry low. You can even warm iron, if you choose to!

The draperies and curtains come in various sizes, and you’re bound to fit ones that suit the size of the windows you need covered!

We loved the array of rich colors available as well! As of now, they have: Beige, Dark Grey, Black, Navy, Sky Blue, Burgundy, Grey, Chocolate, Olive, Turquoise, Sage, Pink, Green, Lilac, Lavender, Purple, Orange, Brick, Wheat, Mint, Royal Blue, Violet, Dusty Pink, Light Pink, Light Grey, Moss, Avocado, Baby Pink, Cardinal Red, Mauve, and Mustard.

As you can see, with the wide options of shades, you’re bound to find something that suits any furniture, paint, or styles you already have in your home. Keep in mind, that with the lighter colors, they might not block out up to 99% of the sun like the darker colors do.

What We Loved

  • Made of 100% durable, soft polyester
  • Comes in huge selection of beautiful colors
  • Accommodates most curtain rod sizes
  • Helps to insulate rooms or keep heat from coming in
  • Has the ability to protect art, furniture, flooring, and more from UV rays

What We Didn’t Like

  • Lighter colors may not block out 99% of light
  • Not the least expensive option

Soho Grommet – Best Product for Partially Sunlit Rooms

So far, we’ve only brought you blackout curtains that are also thermal ones. That means that they’re going to be the more heavy-duty curtains, and will effectively block out almost all light from coming in.

But, what if you don’t need your room to look like some kind of villainous lair?

People all have different needs; sometimes all you need is a bit more darkness than your typical draperies and curtains provide. Maybe you have a child who keeps waking up at dawn and you just want them to sleep for a bit longer, but they’re afraid of the dark.

The Soho White Grommet Blackout Window Curtain Panels would be a perfect choice.

Coming in an array of sizes and colors, you’re bound to find an option here that suits your needs; no matter the room or the style!

Made of 100% polyester, they definitely didn’t joke around when making these. They’ve created solid white curtains that can actually block out the light! Imagine that!

The panel has the ability to block up to 99% of light with the darker colors, and the lighter colors are perfect for a children’s room or nursery.

The triple-pass foam back layer actually ensures the light-blocking, so you’ll really be able to enjoy a good night’s rest, no matter what time you head off to bed.

The single panel comes in 42” wide and comes in various lengths of either: 63, 84, 96, or 108 inches. It includes one panel, so keep in mind you’ll probably have to purchase two to get the desired effect and look.

The sophisticated design is one of the most attractive we found and they also come in array of colors: Spring Green, Smoke Blue, Coral, Smoke Blue, Choco-Brown, Black, White, Silver, Purple, Ivory, Grey, Rust, Navy, Mushroom, Mocha, Gold, Burgundy, and Beige.

How To Pick The Right Blackout Curtains For You

So many times, we’ve had those days where we need to fall asleep, but the garbageman is making too much noise, and the blaring light of morning is shining right into our eyes. You’re starting to get delusional from the lack of rest, and dreamland seems to be a far-off destination.

That’s why having a pair of the best blackout curtains is so important! However, choosing the best ones can be an adventure in itself. That’s why we’ve taken it upon ourselves to write up a buying guide, so all you have to do is follow along!

First, it’s important to recognize the different types of blackout curtains, and select which type works best for you and your situation.

First, there are thermal curtains. The majority of the products we’ve listed are of this kind. They work to block out sun, reduce intrusive outside noise, as well as energy costs.

However, one of their major functions is to insulate the room, so if you don’t need this function, you’d probably be better off with the other type of curtains: light filtering.

These are made with a semi-opaque fabric, rather than completely opaque. As you may have guessed from the name, they filter out sunlight, letting in just a small portion. They can also work to insulate a room a bit; it’s not a rule.

There are also room-darkening curtains, however, we don’t have any of those on our list. They work to provide darkness as well as privacy, however, they let in more light than the previous types.

These work great for children’s rooms, still letting them navigate the room without getting terrified.

Everyone has a favorite color, and the color is definitely important when it comes to designing any home. Usually, blackout curtains are bought after a room or home is decorated with a certain color scheme or style, so it’s important that they boost the vibe of a room; not work against it.

If you’re set on lighter colors, there are a ton of options above, for you to look at! There are even some white window curtains that do an amazing job at blocking out sunlight and noise, so if that’s your thing, go for it!

It’s important to measure your windows beforehand, as buying too-short curtains are obviously not going to insulate your room the way you’d probably like them to. Most will come in a variety of lengths, but the width will typically just be one size.

While we’re on that note, make sure you’re purchasing enough blackout curtain panels for your home. Many times, the package will only come with one, which probably isn’t going to provide the coverage you need, so pay attention to that bit.

Price often reflects quality, but with the curtains we have above, they honestly vary widely in price, and are all of great quality. However, some may vary in durability, and we usually recommend the ones a bit more costly than the cheapest ones on the market.

Well, they may look the same, but the more expensive ones often last much longer; so much that they’ll usually pay for themselves with how much more durable they are.

So, which of these best blackout curtains will be making their way into your home?

No matter which ones you choose, you can rest assured knowing that you’re about to feel more rested and at peace when you go home. You can choose to have a dark, quiet room to sleep in whenever you need, at any time of day!

While we loved all of these curtains, our personal favorite was the Eclipse, for a variety of reasons. The construction and materials used were high-quality and made to be long-lasting. They’re very easy to maintain and make sure they’re looking good.

They also blocked out the most sunlight, decreased noise by almost half, and work really well at insulating rooms against heat and/or cold. While doing all that, they look gorgeous and come in rich colors that will suit just about any home design.

Thanks for joining us, and enjoy some of the best blackout curtains!
